How to Customize and Send a Notification to the EV Drivers in ChargeWise

This is the second article in our 4-part Broadcasts series. Here we cover the notification channel - how to customize it, how it looks to drivers, and how to send one out.

What is a notification card in ChargeWise?

1. A notification is a card delivered straight into the notification stack drivers already check on their Home screen daily. It's the lightest-weight of the three Broadcasts channels - no popup, no inbox, just a card waiting for the next time they open the app.

Each card consists of the following parts:

1. Title - this is where you enter the Headline of the notification card. Limited to 80 characters (including spaces).
2. Body message - this is where you enter the CTA-based message to your EV Driver. By default, it's shown with a "Just now"-style relative timestamp so it always feels current. Limited to 200 characters (including spaces).
3. A customizable icon.
4. An action button (optional) - Add a single primary action button that opens a driver-app page or an external link (for example, linking to the Rewards Marketplace) - or leave it as a pure announcement with just the built-in dismiss (X) on the top right corner.

Setting up a new notification card

Creating a notification takes the following steps:

1. Log into your ChargeWise Admin app > navigate to Broadcasts > click the New broadcast button:

2. Select Card > then choose your Audience (All drivers, Specific drivers, Tiers, User groups, or User list) > click Next:

3. Build the Notification Card by:

• writing your Title and message:

• picking an icon:

• and optionally, add one action button:

• When you're done, there will be a live preview that shows exactly what the driver will see in the User app:

4. Click the Save draft button when you're ready with your draft. Once you do that, the Notification Card will be added to the general Broadcasts overview, and you'll be able to see all the associated details before sending it out:

5. Review the channel, audience, and estimated recipients of the Notification. Then click the Send Broadcast button. When you do that, a pop-up screen will appear > click Confirm & Send:

6. When you send it, the status will change from Draft > Pending:

and then from Pending > Sent:
