A Review of the Initial 4 Event-Based Program Types
For the first implementation of the Events-Based Loyalty programs, we have implemented 4 different types of events, based on which you can incentivize and reward the EV driver to not only actively charge on your EV Charging Network but also to win and redeem points for special rewards.
Below, you can find a brief overview of the initial 4 event-based types that we just recently introduced.
Use Case: The SignUp event rewards a driver as soon as they create an account or join your charging loyalty program with bonus points.
Benefit: In EV charging, this helps convert casual, pay‑as‑you‑go users into identified members, giving you a direct communication channel and setting the expectation that “charging with you” is more rewarding than using other competitors.
Use Case: Reward drivers with a one‑time points bonus when they complete their very first charging session on your network.
Benefit: This “welcome event” helps convert new or occasional users into registered members and nudges them to make your network their default choice early on.
Use Case: The Tier Promotion event triggers when a driver moves up to a higher membership level based on their charging activity (for example, from Silver to Gold after a certain number of sessions or kWh charged).
Benefit: In an EV charging context, this is the perfect moment to “celebrate” the upgrade with a bonus—such as temporary higher discounts, a free fast‑charge session, or priority access at busy sites—reinforcing that heavier usage of your network unlocks tangible, ongoing benefits.
Use Case: The Date Charge event rewards charging that happens on or around specific dates.
Benefit: For EV charging operators, this lets you run time‑boxed promotions — which add an element of surprise and give drivers a reason to choose your stations on those key dates rather than delaying or going elsewhere.
