How to Disable a User

In ChargeWise, Admin Users have the ability to disable a User profile if/when necessary.

Here's how this feature works in a few easy-to-follow steps:

  1. Log in to the Admin App and navigate to Users:
Access Users in ChargeWise
  1. Select a User > Actions > Disable Selected:
Select a User that will be Disabled in ChargeWise

ℹ️ Please note that only users who have the "Enabled" status can be deactivated.

If you try to disable a user who has "Imported" or "Invited" status, the system won't allow it and you'll see the following message on the screen:

No Drivers were Disabled.
  1. Once you disable a User, you'll see the following confirming message on the screen:
Successfully Disabled the Driver in ChargeWise

ℹ️ Please note that the status of the user will change from "Enabled" to "Disabled".

User Status = Disabled in ChargeWise Admin App

Respectively, the EV Driver will see the following message in the app:

Disabled User in the ChargeWise App

Also, it's important to note that even though the EV Driver's account has been disabled, they can still:

  • Access their account in the ChargeWise app.
  • Browse through the rewards catalogue and redeem a specific reward of their preference.
  • Access their Profile and History.

Being disabled means that a driver is no longer allowed to participate in the loyalty programs provided by the Operator and that no more points will be accumulated in their accounts in ChargeWise. In such cases, however, users don't lose any points and they are still available for rewards redemption.

Disabling users via the Admin App may have various user cases and rationales. For instance:

  • Use Case #1: The Loyalty Program is part of a premium subscription that the Operator offers to their end-customers. If the EV Driver cancels their subscription with the operator, then the Operator may decide to disable their accounts since they no longer should take part in their programs.
  • Use Case #2: The Operator detects that the EV Driver is violating their Terms & Conditions and makes the decision to disable their account to prevent further abuse or inappropriate actions.

Whichever is the case, ChargeWise enables the Admin User to have the ability to manually re-enable the Users as well. Here are the steps that they should follow to do that:

  1. Select a User > Actions > Re-enable Selected:
Re-enable Selected Users in ChargeWise
  1. Once you re-enable the User successfully, you'll see the following confirmation message on the screen:
The User is Active Again

The user's status is then changed from "Disabled" back to "Enabled".
